Printing inks use dyes rather than pigments, dyes are fugitive and will fade in a realatively short time.

Pricing artwork by the square inch is an industry standard. Two dollars per square inch for small paintings is affordable and you can grow your collection over time to eventually fill the wall space of a large painting but with much more dimension and interest.
